The chant
भजे विशेषसुन्दरं समस्तपापखण्डनम् ।
स्वभक्तचित्तरञ्जनं सदैव राममद्वयम् || 1 ||
जटाकलापशोभितं समस्तपापनाशकम् ।
स्वभक्तभीतिभङ्जनं भजेह राममद्वयम् || 2 ||
निजस्वरूपबोधकं कृपाकरं भवापहम् ।
समं शिवं निरञ्जनं भजेह राममद्वयम् || 3 ||
सहप्रपञ्चकल्पितं ह्यनामरूपवास्तवम् ।
निराकृतिं निरामयं भजेह राममद्वयम् || 4 ||
निष्प्रपञ्चनिर्विकल्पनिर्मलं निरामयम्।
चिदेकरूपसन्ततं भजेह राममद्वयम् || 5 ||
भवाब्धिपोतरूपकं ह्यशेषदेहकल्पितम् ।
गुणाकरं कृपाकरं भजेह राममद्वयम् || 6 ||
महावाक्यबोधकैर्विराजमनवाक्पदैः ।
परब्रह्म व्यापकं भजेह राममद्वयम् || 7 ||
शिवप्रदं सुखप्रदं भवच्छिदं भ्रमापहम् ।
विराजमानदैशिकं भजेह राममद्वयम् || 8 ||
रामाष्टकं पठति यः सुखदं सुपुण्यं
व्यासेन भाषितमिदं शृणुते मनुष्यः ।
विद्यां श्रियं विपुलसौख्यमनन्तकीर्तिं
सम्प्राप्य देहविलये लभते च मोक्षम् || 9 ||
॥ इति श्रीव्यासविरचितं रामाष्टकं सम्पूर्णम् ॥

jatakalapashobhitam samastapapanashakam |
svabhaktabhitibhanjanam bhajeha ramamadvayam || 2 ||
nijasvarupabodhakam kripakaram bhavapaham |
samam shivam niranjanam bhajeha ramamadvayam || 3 ||
sahaprapanchakalpitam hyanamarupavastavam |
nirakritim niramayam bhajeha ramamadvayam || 4 ||
nishprapanchanirvikalpanirmalam niramayam|
chidekarupasantatam bhajeha ramamadvayam || 5 ||
bhavabdhipotarupakam hyasheshadehakalpitam |
gunakaram kripakaram bhajeha ramamadvayam || 6 ||
mahavakyabodhakairvirajamanavakpadaih |
parabrahma vyapakam bhajeha ramamadvayam || 7 ||
shivapradam sukhapradam bhavachchhidam bhramapaham |
virajamanadaishikam bhajeha ramamadvayam || 8 ||
ramashtakam pathati yah sukaram supunyam
vyasena bhashitamidam sharinute manushyah |
vidyam shriyam vipulasaukhyamanantakirtim
samprapya dehavilaye labhate cha moksham || 9 ||

attains knowledge, wealth, happiness, infinite fame,
|| iti shrivyasavirachitam ramashtakam sampurnam ||
The uniquely beautiful One, the Destroyer of all sins,
the delight of His followers, I worship that unparalleled Lord Rama. || 1 ||
Whose matted locks shine, who ends all sin,
Who removes fear from the hearts of his followers, I worship that unparalleled Lord Rama. || 2 ||
The Revealer of our true Self, who is grace and mercy himself,
the One who is unmoved, pure, and free of bondage, I worship that unparalleled Lord Rama. || 3 ||
Who shows the universe within him, invisible yet real,
nameless, formless, and untouched by mpurity, I worship that unparalleled Lord Rama. || 4 ||
The One beyond duality and illusions, spotless, ever-pure,
the Ever-constant pure consciousness, I worship that unparalleled Lord Rama. || 5 ||
The boat that crosses worldly life, the One with many lives,
The One full of virtues and compassion, I worship that unparalleled Lord Rama. || 6 ||
The One whose glory is elaborated in great Vedic statements,
the Supreme Being, the Eternal truth, I worship that unparalleled Lord Rama. || 7 ||
The guru who radiates joy and auspiciousness, ends bondage and ignorance,
Who evades illusion and illuminates, I worship that unparalleled Lord Rama. || 8 ||
He who recites or meditates to this powerful and blissful Ramashtakam
and in the end, liberation of the soul. || 9 ||
Thus ends the Ramashtakam composed by Shri Vyasa.
