नमस्तेस्तू महामाये श्रीपिठे सूरपुजिते ।
शंख चक्र गदा हस्ते महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते || 1 ||
नमस्ते गरूडारूढे कोलासूर भयंकरी ।
सर्व पाप हरे देवी महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते || 2 ||
सर्वज्ञे सर्ववरदे सर्वदुष्ट भयंकरी ।
सर्व दुःख हरे देवी महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते || 3 ||
सिद्धीबुद्धूीप्रदे देवी भुक्तिमुक्ति प्रदायिनी ।
मंत्रमूर्ते सदा देवी महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते || 4 ||
आद्यंतरहिते देवी आदिशक्ति महेश्वरी ।
योगजे योगसंभूते महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते || 5 ||
स्थूल सूक्ष्म महारौद्रे महाशक्ती महोदरे ।
महापाप हरे देवी महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते || 6 ||
पद्मासनस्थिते देवी परब्रम्हस्वरूपिणी ।
परमेशि जगन्मातः महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते || 7 ||
श्वेतांबरधरे देवी नानालंकार भूषिते ।
जगत्स्थिते जगन्मातः महालक्ष्मी नमोस्तूते || 8 ||
महालक्ष्म्यष्टकस्तोत्रं यः पठेत् भक्तिमान्नरः ।
सर्वसिद्धीमवाप्नोति राज्यं प्राप्नोति सर्वदा || 9 ||
एककाले पठेन्नित्यं महापापविनाशनं ।
द्विकालं यः पठेन्नित्यं धनधान्य समन्वितः || 10 ||
त्रिकालं यः पठेन्नित्यं महाशत्रूविनाशनं ।
महालक्ष्मीर्भवेन्नित्यं प्रसन्ना वरदा शुभा || 11 ||
॥इति श्री इंद्रकृत श्रीमहालक्ष्म्यष्टकम् संपूर्णम् ॥

shankha chakra gada haste mahalakshmi namostute || 1 ||
namaste garudarudhe kolasura bhayankari |
sarva papa hare devi mahalakshmi namostute || 2 ||
sarvajne sarvavarade sarvadushta bhayankari |
sarva duhkha hare devi mahalakshmi namostute || 3 ||
siddhibuddhiprade devi bhuktimukti pradayini |
mantramurte sada devi mahalakshmi namostute || 4 ||
adyantarahite devi adishakti maheshvari |
yogaje yogasambhute mahalakshmi namostute || 5 ||
sthula sukshma maharaudre mahashakti mahodare |
mahapapa hare devi mahalakshmi namostute || 6 ||
padmasanasthite devi parabramhasvarupini |
parameshi jaganmatah mahalakshmi namostute || 7 ||
shvetambaradhare devi nanalankara bhushite |
jagatsthite jaganmatah mahalakshmi namostute || 8 ||
mahalakshmyashtakastotram yah pathet bhaktimannarah |
sarvasiddhimavapnoti rajyam prapnoti sarvada || 9 ||
ekakale pathennityam mahapapavinashanam |
dvikalam yah pathennityam dhanadhanya samanvitah || 10 ||
trikalam yah pathennityam mahashatruvinashanam |
mahalakshmirbhavennityam prasanna varada shubha || 11 ||
||iti indrakritam mahalakshmyashtakam sampurnam ||
Thus begins is the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam created by Lord Indra.
Salutations to Lord Ganesha!
Salutations, O Divine Illusion, Goddess of prosperity worshipped by all,
The One holding the conch, mace, and disc, I bow to that Goddess Lakshmi. || 1 ||
Seated on the Garuda, she terrorises the demon Kola
The One who removes all sin, I bow to that Goddess Lakshmi. || 2 ||
The One who knows all, bestows all, and instils fear in the evil,
The One who alleviates all sorrows, I bow to that Goddess Lakshmi. || 3 ||
The Bestower of fortune and wisdom, devotion and salvation,
The One who is a mantra herself, I bow to that Goddess Lakshmi. || 4 ||
The Primordial Shakti, without beginning or end,
The One who arises from and immerses in yoga, I bow to that Goddess Lakshmi. || 5 ||
The Mighty, the Subtle, the Ferocious, the Cosmic Womb,
The One who removes all evil, I bow to that Goddess Lakshmi. || 6 ||
Seated on a lotus, the incarnation of the entire universe,
The Mother of the Universe, I bow to that Goddess Lakshmi. || 7 ||
Draped in white, adorned with varied jewels,
Abiding in this world, Mother of this world, I bow to that Goddess Lakshmi. || 8 ||
The devoted humans who practice this Mahalakshmi Stotram
will always be blessed with all forms of desired fortune. || 9 ||
If recited once every day, even the greatest sins will be washed away.
If recited twice a day, wealth and well-being will flow in abundance. || 10 ||
If recited three times a day, even the greatest enemies or obstacles will be destroyed.
Goddess Mahalakshmi, the grater of blessings, will be pleased. || 11 ||
Thus ends the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam created by Lord Indra.
